Kiln Drying for Longevity - Before Treatment

The most common failure of a post or pole is rot and decay at the ground line. By kiln drying your posts before they are treated, we significantly increase the life of your project.

Kiln drying pulls excess moisture from the post or pole allowing the pressure treatment to fully penetrate the wood. The additional cost of this service is minimal (usually less than $1 for a 4″ Top x 8 ft post), especially considering the fact that the pre-drying will effectively double the life of a post used for a fence. Contact us online to ask about pre-drying poles.

Polyshield® Coated Wood for Ultra Protection & Longevity

Get the most life from your poles and pilings with our amazing poly wood coating, a protective polymer coating engineered for use on wood. The special poly wood coating bonds to wood creating a protective barrier that is impenetrable by marine borers or termites.

Engineers and contractors offer poly coated wood to set them apart as offering a product no one else can offer. It is a cost-effective value-add upgrade for customers, creating a product that will last virtually forever. A fence built using treated posts zone coated with poly coated wood will NOT rot at the ground line.

Gun Barrel Pilings & Poles:

Solid No-Taper Poles Up to 52 Feet Long!

Gun Barrel pilings are solid uniform diameter pilings (and poles) available in lengths up to 52 feet. Gun Barrel pilings and poles are used as construction pilings, poles, and columns in applications where structural integrity and aesthetics are important. They can be used treated or untreated, depending on your project. Learn more about Gun Barrel poles.

Utility Companies Using Poly Coating Wraps

Utility companies benefit from the amazing polymer coating with savings of labor and materials costs. The benefits of poly coated poles for a utility company are simple.

Poly wood coating Ground Line Zone Coating for Utility Poles:

  • Prolongs the useable life of the pole.
  • Prevents the need for wrapping the pole in the future – saving material and labor cost.
  • Assures environmental protection.
  • Is applied at our product facility – no on site labor is required.
  • Can be drilled or cut if necessary.

Polyshield coated wood also assures environmental protection because it prevents the leaching of the chemicals used for treating the wood into the surrounding soil or water.

Helpful Definitions

Pole – defined by its particular structural installation. If the pole is set with the butt (large end) in the ground, such as a utility pole or barn pole, it is referred to as a pole.

Piling – also defined by its installation. Pilings are driven into the ground with the tip (small end) first.
